Common questions

How loud is it?

Whisper-quiet — from 24 dB on low and under 35 dB on its normal night setting. Quiet enough to sleep beside, independently confirmed by HouseFresh.

What do replacement filters cost?

Standard 3M Filtrete MERV-13 (20×25) — €89 a pair incl. VAT and duties, changed every 6–12 months (about €7,41–€14,83 a month). No locked-in proprietary cartridges.

How much does it cost to run?

About 7 cents a day to run — 16 h a day at full speed, at the EU average price (€0.29/kWh). A Levoit Core 600S needs over 4× the electricity for the same clean air.

What room size does it cover?

Ideal for rooms up to 50 m² — 622 m³/h PM2.5 CADR, tested by Intertek. That’s about 5 full air changes an hour in 50 m², and about 8 in a 30 m² room.

Does it remove viruses and allergens?

Yes — MERV-13 media captures fine particles down to 0.3 microns, comparable to HEPA, including pollen, dust, pet dander, mould spores, smoke and airborne viruses.

Not right for you? Send it back within 30 days.

Independent Reviews

Summary of independent reviews: independent testers and owners consistently describe Clean Air Kits purifiers as effective and exceptionally quiet for their high performance.

Independent test highlights — Luggable range (HouseFresh tested the XL 7-Fan)

  • Performance: Independent tests show it cleans the air in a medium-to-large room (around 45 m²) as effectively and quickly as popular, more expensive retail air purifiers like the Winix 5500-2 or Levoit Vital 200S
  • Noise Level: The most praised feature — reportedly one of the quietest high-performance air purifiers tested (around 38.8 dBA), often described as a whisper or easily ignorable background hum
  • Energy Efficiency: Uses very little power (around 10.5 watts) — about €27 a year even if run 24/7 (EU average price)
  • Build/Value: Simple build with long-term savings from generic, efficient and affordable HVAC filters (like 3M Filtrete) instead of proprietary ones
  • Filter Type: Primarily uses MERV-13 filters — excellent for particles. For odours & VOCs, choose the Luggable Carbon, which adds an activated-carbon stage.
